    The generally accepted pH level in saltwater systems is between 7.6 and 8.4, but reef tanks are a bit more sensitive to pH and should be kept more toward higher levels.

    Oh I agree.....Its hard to believe the mantis breaking aquarium glass...I personally have never seen it happen but just quoting an article in a fish mag shown to my at my LFS.

    You know what always works for me to get rid of ick.....when i purchase a new fish I first do a FW dip for about 1 to 2 minutes.....then I put him in QT for about 3 to 4 weeks.....if everything is good to go he makes it out to my tank

    OOPS! In trying to rid aptasia I think I killed my corals!

    What are you trying to do? Get rid of them (aptasia)? If so i dont know where you got the lemon juice idea.....not saying it doesnt work just never heard of it.....if you are trying to get rid of them you can try these methods. INJECT THEM WITH BOILING WATER AND CALCIUM HYDROXIDE BUT EITHER...

    If it is a mantis shripm...you might want to get him out of there as quick as possible....I read an article which stated that there were reports of mantis shrimps tapping on the glass over and over till it cracks and breaks.........I dont know about you but for me that would not be fun at...
