Patching a Hole in a tank

So.. do i connect a pump in the sump and does the water just gush out from that hole? or would i connect another pipe? sorry. I haven't used this setup before. I was just thinking of just patching the hole and use the over flow into the sump below and have a spray bar as a return.

Patching a Hole in a tank

Cool, thanks for the replys. I'll try to get some pictures when I get home. Its already got an overflow sump thing, which I'll be using, but its also got another hole on the other side of the overflow. Cheers

Patching a Hole in a tank

Hello, My friend gave me a 2m long tank, and its got a hole, 5cm diameter, drilled at the bottom of the tank at either end. I'm just wondering if I could silicon a peice of glass over it and would that be enough? the glass is about 1cm thick. Regards Daid

    Guppy Breeding Questions?

Female guppies usually give birth around every 3-5 weeks (it really depends on the guppy).

    Guppy Pregnant or sick?

Sorry for your loss. Some guppies when pregnant hang at the bottom or under a big leaf, if you have one. Some swim around like they're not pregnant at all and give birth all over the tank. Sometimes they do have complications when pregnant and suddenly die. Also Guppies live for about 2 to 3...

    PH level and fighting guppies

When I got my first guppies, they did fight each other, even the females to females. If you have 2 males, you could add more plants to break them up or give them hiding places, or add more females. I found that adding more females and more plants do help, but you need like 2-3 females per 1...

    Introducing fish from diff pH

Hi guys, Thanks for all the help, I've setup a QT tank. The QT tank has filter media and some gravel from the main tank. I've given up on getting new guppies as my female guppies have given birth to about 60 frys (4+4+12+20+30 order of birth batches) and the 8 (4+4) have been moved back into...

    Introducing fish from diff pH

I've done water changes, 20%, 20%, 20% and 20%. During these water changes, I've put less and less salt, last 2 had no salt. I got 3 more guppies from the LFS (NH3=0,NO2=0,NO3=80, maybe i should try another LFS). 5 hour slow drip. Finished at about 1AM. The following day Day 1 - Good Day 2 -...

    PH & Cycling

From what I've read, dont let the pH drop too far from 6.5 as the good bacteria doesn't like it (in other words, dead bacteria)

Can you take another cycling question??

If you have prime (you can use others, but please check the bottle), you can dose it more. eg. 1 dose for the tap water + extra for the ammonia in the tank. It acts like ammo lock NH3->NH4 (safer and will be used up by the bacteria) but will register as active ammonia in the API test kits...

    Introducing fish from diff pH

Sorry, I'm all over the place. Currently i have 5 guppies + 10 frys currently in the tank. The 5 guppies came from the LFS (2 males from LFS A, 3 females from LFS B). The females have given birth to the 10 frys (3 + 5 + 1, in order from oldest to youngest). This was all done before the...
