Thanks to both of you for your replies. I can now go ahead with my tank. And i will only have live sand in the tank for 30 days. No fish or inverts.

Would water from the culligan store be ok to start my saltwater tank? And can i use the old sump from a freshwater setup? I know RODI is best but can't afford one right now. I plan on setting up the tank with live sand and pluming with snails and crabs. Then leave it for 30 days before any...

I have a 125 gal glass tank which is going to be saltwater. I plan to make a dual overflow out of pvc pipe. One inch pipe to a 1.25 inch center pipe to the sump. My question is this. Can i use 1 inch pipe for a return to the tank? Or could i use two 3/4 inch pipes for the overflows? And 1 inch...

This is a little off topic of retro fit kits. But I have a MH sys that is a total of 542w. The halide bulbs are 175w each. Is it possible to use 150w bulbs in this sys? I do not want to ruin my ballast.

I have two different SW test kits and i get very different readings on the nitrates. Aqur Pharm INC = 20 Aqur Sys Fast test = 10 What is the best test kit to use that is accurate?

Thanks to you all. I have it all figured out now. That is a Condy and i was able to pick up an lta for the price of the condy so all is well. :)

Thank you. The person at the LFS said it was a long tentacle anemone and i was charged for one. The Condy is much cheaper.
