    rock overgrown

It feels like plastic when touching. The branches also really feel like plastic. There is so much growing that I took some out and let my wife touch it, she thought it was fake, plastic coral. Not sure where the rock is from though, I know for sure it's not Fiji

    rock overgrown

Hey guys, the LR in the center of the tank is nearly overgrown with plants and hard corals. I have no idea what they're called, but the green plant needs cutting every weekend as it grows branches that extend to other rocks at an alarming rate. So basically I need an ID for the green plant...

    good or bad crab?

I just noticed this guy for the first time. There was debris coming out of this hole from the rock and i peeked from under and this pretty decent sized crab (about 1/2 inch) hiding in the hole. He seemed white-ish and hairy. good or bad?

    twirly white objects

No idea what these are, but I recently noticed a bunch of them all around my biggest live rock. Any ideas?

    PH levels

If it's still low, make sure you have enough surface agitation. When I first started I couldn't get it higher than 7.8 (day or night).. then adjusted powerheads to face the water surface and over 2-3 days it jumped to 8.3, then 8.4

    Frogspawn Coral

I also just recently acquired a couple frogspawn heads and read an interesting article on how feeding brine shrimp and other meaty items gives better color to the frogspawn. Apologies but I didn't save the link..

    polyps look burnt

Thanks, I figured they're ok.. just not as pretty as in the store. The store itself has several Metal hallides hanging over their coral farm. I also kept the lighting time in my tank down to 5-6 hours for month to combat algae, but now it's back up to 8 hours.

    polyps look burnt

Hey guys, not sure whats up but these guys don't look as good as they did in the store. My water params are perfect and I have 156w T5 lighting in a 30g tank. All the other corals seem fine. They open and close normally, it's just their inside color that looks rusted.

    Aiptasia?

Turns out it was an Aeolid Nudibranch. After eliminating this one (who attacked the anemones in the pic the next day), 5 others showed up in other areas of the tank. Lessons learned: If it moves and has tentacles = automatic eviction.

    attack of the aeolids

hey guys, I have a 3 month old 30g reef tank which is doing really well. However 1 week ago I noticed the first aeolid nudibranch attacking my coral. I removed him, only to find another one a day later, right on top of my Zoas. It's now been a week and I've eliminated 6 of them. It seems they...

    Aiptasia?

One more for you guys tonight. Here's a sneaky one, it literally appeared 10 min after i took this first photo. It first looked like a little ball, not attached to the wrong but kinda on this loose algae you see. Then slowly it opened up it's tentacles. Seems to have white spots at the tips...

    t-shaped starfish?

Spotted this little guy walking on my coral today. He's about 1/6 inch, t-shaped and what looked like small tentacles underneath. Anyone?
