I have a 29 gallon jungle planted tank. I recently added 6 juvie honey gouramis to my tank 2:4 M:F. Will they be too aggressive to each other? These are the true Honey variety, not the DG variants.
I also have 15 CPDs and 6 peacock gudgeons in my tank.
Any help would be appreciated.
Yeah my 75%+ plant cover tanks pretty much never get a vacuum. Just make sure you have a healthy (read: not explosive) population of MTS.
Sand is an issue sometimes since detritus just floats on top of the sand, but if you have enough plants you can't see it anyway.
my tank is pretty heavily planted, pretty much 100% plant cover. It is also open top.
Current inhabitants
6 peacock gudgeons, about an inch or so long (planning to cull this down to 2-4 when they get bigger.)
7 celestial pearl danios
1 apistogramma borelli
2 guppies.

It's barely been a month and I can't stop the itch to buy more fish... This is a 29 gallon, densely planted tank, 2213 Eheim.
2 Bolivian Rams (non-mated pair)
1 Apisto Agissizi (female)
2 Mini Chocolate Gouramis (eyespot gourami, these only get to about 1.5 in)
5 Praecox Rainbows (1M:4F)
7 CPDs...
I'd get some dwarf cichlids for some bottom dwelling fish.
4-5 Bolivian Rams - hardy, good color, personable - mine eat from my hand. If a M/F mating pair forms, rehome the rest. I prefer these over the more sensitive and warm (80F+) water German Blue ram. Your tank might be good with 2...
Yeah I think I'm gonna wait, but my LFS just got a big shipment of apistos... Must resist... at least until my filter adjusts to the rainbows.
The tank has been up about 8 months now. I dose EI so Im pretty religious about the water change. Maybe I'll rehome my harlequins... Ahhh need more...
Well, I am considering adding a single apisto.. I can't seem to get over the urge to buy more fish... I'm 8 months into this hobby, and I've already rehomed and restocked The entire tank once!
I guess I could do this when or if the Bolivian rams pair up..
One of my rams currently is defending...
Pretty sure in established planted aquariums, diatoms appear due to insufficient lighting and/or nutrient imbalance.

Canister filter, eheim classics or fluval -- dead silent, good filtration. I've never used any other type of filter, but I can't imagine anything being better.
You can get a used 2217 (way more than enough) for 80 bucks, 2215 for probably 50-60, and 2213s run 30-40. All used of course.
