Thank you for the replies. That is what I was planning moving forward, but I feel bad for the fish in the tank. I'm planning on putting up a 10 gallon planted amazon biotope tank and will not make the same mistake. In fact I will be doing a fish less cycle.

I should also mention that I have a sponge filter in the Top Fin 20 that is also on the tank to help generate good bacteria.

Thank you all for relying. So they are both made by Hagen then, correct? For a 20, would the AC70 be too much? It is rated for 40-70 g tanks. It seems that you all agree that the AC filter is a better way to go.
