well currently its pushing approx 6ft up and pulling 6 ft down the way its set up now. Which leads me to believe it can. But it only pumps approx 300 GPH I am thinking it may be a little low for the size tank I have at 55 Gallons. I'm thinking around 500 - 700 GPH would be more efficiant?

Alright so I've removed a little less then half the water, and vacumed out alot of the algae at the top of the sand, scraped almost all the algae off the glass. :thumb:. Now I have the water in buckets waiting to add. Once I get water back up I will test nitrates ammonia etc. and post. As...

Ammonia's still reading at 0, what is the cause of this outbreak? Should I be setting up a diff tank for the livestock until my tank gets under control? Will the water changes help with the algae in the aspect of getting rid of it all or mostly??

So my tank now has a rampant growth of brown algae. My anenomes are doing great, corals great, emerald crabs are feasting. But the tank is puke brown and getting worse daily. Tomorrow I will be taking back the PoS skimmer I have and hopefully finding a good one. Ammonia and nitrates all showing...

update 55 gallons My tank is actually only 55 gallons sad face all good though, I just measured dimensions on tank and it turns out it is 55 gallons.

Just took measurements on the tank, and it is only 55 Gallons appologies. That explains as to why it didnt take much water to get it 75% replaced. To answer your question the salinity level is at 1.024. With the findings of the tank being 55 Gallons, will the light I have currently suffice for...

So photoperiod is the time that the lights are on? Also seems when the lights are off the anenome's look strange or almost sickly is that normal? You say off around 12 hours that seems like a lot to me. Is that normally how long to leave all the lights off on a day to day basis?
