I have had a red platy in my tank for a while and he hasn't been an issue. Yesterday I added some new fish and he is harassing them and even some of the fish he's been living with. His main target is a male rainbow platy and while he hasn't bitten him he keeps chasing him constantly. What should...
So I got rid of my problem with diatoms but now there's green algae everywhere. As far as I know the tank has never been exposed to sunlight and I've been treating it with algae remover stuff and cleaning once a week but it won't go away. Doesn't help that one of my fish has fin rot (he's had it...
one of my cories was upside down with his head in the gravel, so I thought he was stuck. I dug him out and he swam in a circle upside down and then lay down on his side at the bottom. He can barely swim and only upside down. he is quarantined so I can watch him. Can I help him at all or will he...
I have a 20g long fish tank that I use for my gerbils instead of fish. They chewed the frame at the top of the tank and I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix it. It is not something that affects the tank's structure or ability to hold water if I ever wanted it for that, but it annoying to...
My platy is getting fatter and fatter, but I've been feeding my fish consistently. I think he may be bloated. He always has those poop strings hanging off him. Would an Epsom salt dip help? I have tried to give him peas before and he does not eat them.
My cory has been laying on the bottom of the tank and not eating for about a week. Today I moved him to a qt tank and gave him a salt dip. I'm not exactly sure what's wrong with him. Earlier I thought it looked like fungus, but now I don't see any signs. I have tried to get him to eat, getting...
I use the AP liquid kit for testing and I only do multiple water changes in one day if something is very off and I wait between water changes for the temp to go back up (usually a few hours). The fish are looking better today, but I haven't tested yet or done a water change.
I have 4 1 gallon jugs from the supermarket, I don't have anything larger. If I did get something larger, I would have to go even farther to get the water. The fish are in the attic, and a 1 gallon jug is the largest thing I can fill in the 2nd floor bathroom sink. I would have to go down to the...
