It's probably over kill. The thing weighs a ton. I made it 49.5" long, 13.5" deep and 36" tall. Pretty much the exact dimensions of the tank in depth and length, and I plan on putting a lip of moulding around the tank surrounding the base (top of the stand) . I used 2.5" inch nails, some elmers...

Well I mounted them to slate and am soaking them, the one whiter piece is just too big to fit into the cooler haha so they will all be pretty much the same color when in the tank, that piece just wasn't wet Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice
