As said by Delapool, you may want to buy a water testing kit because that will allow you to be able to know how often you need to change the water.

If there is no nitrate then you may not have a cycle, keep adding something like fish food until you see a change in numbers. If your nitrate goes up and the others stay at 0 then your nitrate may have been low due to a large water change. If you ammonia rises and your others stay at 0 then...
It does sound like your tank has been instantly cycled.
I would suggest stocking slowly, but not too slowly otherwise some bacteria might die off due to lack of ammonia.
What are your stocking plans
I would say a bristlenose pleco needs a minimum of 20 gallons. Snails would be a more suitable option, however as stated above, reducing light would also help.
I have had success with mixing a female betta in a community tank with cardinal tetras & Pygmy corydoras. Am extremely important thing when mixing a betta with other fish is to have a large enough tank, because the more space the betta has, the less aggressive & territorial it will be.
