Setting up a 125 Gallon Tank

I have a goldfish pond, I find it very rewarding & relaxing. :)

    GoldFish

I love my goldfish pond. :)

    Black moor goldfish

It sounds like you're doing a great job! As said by Delapool, you may want to buy a water testing kit because that will allow you to be able to know how often you need to change the water. I am not sure that two fancy fish would fit in a 29 gallon full size, but maybe a fantail as they are...

    Question about cycle

If there is no nitrate then you may not have a cycle, keep adding something like fish food until you see a change in numbers. If your nitrate goes up and the others stay at 0 then your nitrate may have been low due to a large water change. If you ammonia rises and your others stay at 0 then...

    Indian almond leaves

If you add more than one leaf in that sized tank then you will not be able to see your inhabitants very well.

    Is my tank already established?

It does sound like your tank has been instantly cycled. I would suggest stocking slowly, but not too slowly otherwise some bacteria might die off due to lack of ammonia. What are your stocking plans

How many fish can fit in my pond?

20 gallons per fancy goldfish is what I do and also SolidGold on YouTube who is very experienced.

How long does it take for fancy goldfish to get really big?

I have had fancy goldfish for 5 months now and I'm just wondering how long it takes them to get to full size.

How many fish can fit in my pond?

You could do around 5 with a decent filtration system of 8-10x per hour.

    Overstocked?

I would say a bristlenose pleco needs a minimum of 20 gallons. Snails would be a more suitable option, however as stated above, reducing light would also help.

What type of goldfish do I have?

Veiltail for sure, fantails don't have a tail as long as that. Gorgeous fish!

How many fish can fit in my pond?

Fancy goldfish might be okay if you live in a climate that doesn't get too cold. You could fit around 5 fancy goldfish comfortably in there.

    Tank cycling?

Like stated above, your water parameters are necessary to determine the phase of cycling you are currently in.

    mixing betta with other fish

I have had success with mixing a female betta in a community tank with cardinal tetras & Pygmy corydoras. Am extremely important thing when mixing a betta with other fish is to have a large enough tank, because the more space the betta has, the less aggressive & territorial it will be.

    Stocking advice

I agree, less variety of fish & a larger school of selected fish will look much prettier for your tank. For example, I would put more cardinal tetras in your tank as 12 is not many for a 90 gallon, this will make the whole school look much prettier.

    Stocking advice

I definitely don't think the inch per gallon rule is reliable. It's best to just get the opinions of highly experienced tropical community fishkeepers as there is no real set rule for tropical community fish, unlike goldfish where there is a general minimum per fish. This does make things a...

    40 gallon stocking help

My cardinal tetras aren't big at the moment but if I was to buy the angel small then they would both "grow up together". I have read this advice previously in other threads so I think that's what I'll do.

    Stocking advice

I am not great with knowing what stocking limit is okay for such a large tank but it sounds like it may be a little too much & I'm unsure about the compatibility of some of these fish. I do however have an important thing to say: The cardinal tetras, German blue rams, angelfish, severums...

40-50 gallon (approximately) aquascaped tank photos

It's actually not a breeder tank. I love that aquascape, I was thinking of doing something similar and I love the driftwood. I was thinking of doing black sand to make the colours of my fish pop but your white sand looks great too so I am still unsure of which colour sand to choose.

40-50 gallon (approximately) aquascaped tank photos

I need some aquascaping inspiration for my 40 gallon tank which will be a tropical community with low tech plants. Also has anyone ever done an aquascape with a pathway, if so how did it work out? How did you keep the subrates seperated?

    40 gallon stocking help

I think if I bought a juvenile angelfish then it would grow up not seeing the cardinals as food.

    40 gallon stocking help

I don't have any special light so low tech would be the way to go. I was also thinking some driftwood with anubias tied to it & some of your other suggestions sound good.

    Restarting

Agreed, a 10 gallon really isn't enough either.

    Finally getting fancy goldies!!

I'd still be surprised, I've never had a US company ship fish to me.
