Quick shots of my 20l and 5.5g. Waiting for the 20 to fill in since most of the plants were purchased small/dying. The 5.5 needs some serious trimming and the marsilea in the front will be swapped with some s. repens soon.
Thanks guys! Hopefully will have another update in a few days/weeks. Planning on adding some corys eventually and still tweaking the amount of glut that needs to be added.
Just a quick update. Things are growing and filling in, and everyone looks happy! I added in a school of neon tetras after two weeks of just the rams, and they are doing great. The rams are out and about now that they aren't the only ones in there too. I'm planning on moving some of the plants...
Two of my three tanks with finney lights in them. The first is a regular finney planted and the second is a planted plus on my 20 long. So far the plants are doing really well! I even had a couple that I picked up for cheap and not looking too good and they're starting to spring back
Small update this time. A few slight changes happening. On the empty tank, the lobelia is growing great and it seems the AR is even starting to perk up. I added some narrow leaf luwigia and moved the two stems of blyxa from the other tank over since it wasn't doing as well, also added some kind...
Okay so there's a bunch going on here, and while I'm no expert on cichlids I'll do my best to help.
To start you're way way overstocked. The 1" of fish per gallon rule is pretty outdated, and I believe that of you cut down on the number of fish you have you'd get that ammonia under control...
Finally an update on the tank! I went out and splurged on tons of new plants, and got everything planted yesterday. For now I sort of shoved everything in there in the general place I wanted and am gonna let it all grow for awhile before I really work on any sort of specific aquascape.
Here's...
Thanks!
Mini, picture-less update!
The plants are all doing well, even my swords are starting to perk up even though they didn't look to be doing too well when I first added them, though I'm thinking of replacing them with something else in the future.
Also been looking around at co2 systems...
Welcome to the forum, I'm pretty new myself but I might be able to help you out here.
As far as heating goes, I'd say yes to one, most any fish you get will need one, and even with cold water fish, it's best to keep the temp stable than let it fluctuate somewhere around room temperature. It's...
Quick update to the thread, just a top view shot of the one tank that I really liked. Planning on dwarf sag and star repens, then maybe some AR mini and also looking for a red plant to replace the sword that's currently hiding behind the dw.
Update time!
Still cycling though it seems close to done, both tanks can go through 2ppm of ammonia in about 24 hours, so just waiting on the nitrite levels to drop consistently.
Just got some plants yesterday from radmax and deelee though, and spent this morning putting everything in during...
It's Eco Complete, then the rest is play sand. The plan is to place a bunch of plants on the side of the branch, then leave the other space for swimming room. Still deciding on plants but I'm sure I'll be using some swords and crypts, maybe hygro if I can find something I like. Might put anubias...
Thanks! Most recent update is I finished filling it up and hooking up the filters!
I've got a fluval aquaclear 20 and a fluval 106 canister with a Marineland 100w heater. So far so good. Still need to o out and buy some different media though as I don't really need carbon in the canister and...
