You can try boiling the piece for a few hours, changing the water when it gets brown. This will help remove a lot of it if you're lucky. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

Mine change colour all the time, especially when moulting, from a pale yellowy green to a bright red or deep brown, one turned a shade of blue once too. I've read theories they change colour for camouflage, not sure how true it is though. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

Hehe thanks for the input, but viper is another name for the african giant, I have two of them. There's way too many names for these shrimp =P

Just a normal pond snail, I have a few in mine, they eat algae and won't grow much bigger than that, population control is another issue =P

They will only be ok during "potential" breeding time, anything before or after will probably result in death. Bettas don't form mating type bonds unfortunately, so I highly advise against it.

I have a dwarf in with 5 corries and he doesn't bother them at all. Like it's been said though depends on personality.

Maybe, I have betta flakes they have bits of brine shrimp in, think he was fed flakes in shop though. Been trying to get him to jump for worms atm, he's nearly there. Mines a mustard gass, has some slight fin curling though, think he was born with it but it gives him personality.
