    Brownish Clumpy Algae?

Thanks, I appreciate the response. So far so good. Everyone is healthy and happy so I think I have to go with the lighting being the problem. All I have is a 14W Bulb over the tank. However, it is placed in the kitchen which gets lots of light from the sun naturally during the day (Did this...

    Brownish Clumpy Algae?

O.K. My tank seems to be doing great. I have 8 Neon Tetra's and 2 Oto's in a 28G Hex tank. I do 10% water changes weekly and everyone seems to be doing great for a few months now. Now the problem. I have a few pieces of Driftwood in the tank and they seem to be sprouting some Brownish...

    Refugium Critter

Wow! Don't know what it is but I'd hate to meet it out in deep space with only photon torpedoes to kill it. Go to warp.........oops, That's a Star Trek episode LOL. Looks almost like some sort of shrimp. Time for me to research. I'll see if I can find something. George

    New Pond

Thanks Spewns, I'll take you up on that offer when I start to dig the hole out. Our temps are really pretty good. The coldest it's ever got here was in the 40's which was only for a day or two. It's mostly in the 80's - 90's in summer and the 60's in winter. Does a deeper pond mean better...

    Thanks

Just want to say thanks to Kevin (Reefrunner) on his suggestion of using some Oto's as my algae clean up crew. I got 2 of them and in a matter of just 1 week, my algae problem was reduced by 90%. 2 weeks later everything is gone. Nice and clean with absolutely NO ALGAE STRANDS ANYWHERE...
