I have two tanks running and the nitrates are high in both. They are around 80. I just did a massive water change in both and it's the same. I even tested my tap water, and it was low, around 5.0. I thought that might be the issue, but it doesn't seem to be. Should I keep doing this? I don't...

Thanks for the info. I wanted to add driftwood to my 29 gal tank but heard not to use driftwood. I will try that out. I'm sure my goldfish will like that. :)

I'm having high ph issues at the moment. I'm trying a ph balance tablet treatment. That's all I can think of. Have you tried a ph up treatment?
