If you got the fish when its back was like this, it could be a birth defect which is fine, but if this spine curve has developed since getting the fish, it could be cause by an injury or a diet deficiency.

My platy has been acting fine all week, but this morning I noticed a small red bump about the size of its pupil on its forehead. The bump appears to be part of the fish (like a pimple) not something growing on it. I've had it about five/six months with no issues. Thanks!

If you want tetras that are 2-3 inches in length, then I would suggest Buenos Aires tetras. They are lively and exciting, and they really brighten up your tank.

You don't have to run a fish less cycle, but only have the aquarium at about 20% fish capacity for a little while
