I have a male betta, I got him first and then bought a 36gal and added molly's, platy's and neon's. He gets along with all my fish and seems quite happy to have the company!
I have 2 male dalmation molly's. They impregnated my female gold/black molly and also mated with my female black molly. Now the dalmations are getting the offspring pregnant! Are there any problems associated with this in-breeding? I now have 3 generations of dalmation/gold and black molly's!
Please let me know how you do this. RO water is expensive and heavy to lug around. My LFS store uses 5 gal containers and I would rather use tap water but need to get them down. Every water change puts 20-30ppm of nitrates back into the tank. I would be very interested if you can find something...
I have my betta male in my community tank along with sunset platy, two dalmation molly's, two black/gold mollies and several black molly fry and he is happy as he can be. No one bothers him, and he doesn't bother any of the other fish.
My mollies just had fry and I caught them or most of them and put them in a breeder tank and fed them "First Bites", a powder like food just for fry. All have survived and are getting bigger every day! Good luck with yours.
I waited until they were born before I scooped them up and put them in the breeder tank. I put the mother in with the babies but she was aggressive towards the babies so I took her out and just left the fry in the breeder. After about 6 weeks, I let them go in the big tank and all is well.
Well it looks like you will have some little fry soon! My black mollie (Miss Molly) gave birth about a month ago. I also had a black/gold molly give birth a week later. I now have 30 new fish! So cute when they are babies!
I had 7 black mollies and put them in a breeding tank that floats in the main tank. I let them loose in the main tank when they were about a 1/2". All are doing fine the dalmation mollies are the biggest fish I have and all are well and getting bigger!
My black mollie had 7 fry and I put them in a floating breeder box and when they were 6 weeks old, I let them loose in the tank and all seem to be surviving and getting bigger every day. Also I had a black/gold mollie that had about 23 fry and I did the same thing and all have survived in the...
My tank is a 36gal bow front. I was using purified water in 2.5 gal containers. It just got to be a hassel when doing wc. I went back to tap and use seachem prime. If I can get water from Sparkle delivered I would consider that.
