The nightmare worm strikes again! I bought a couple of new guppies from Petsmart (when will I learn my lesson) and about a week later I noticed the female guppy with the camallanus worm. I took her out of the tank (no other fish display any symptoms and I see no more worms on any other fish...
Are these fish eggs on the glass or poo? I've never seen fish poo look like this so at the risk of looking super silly I am posting a photo...
Thanks!
Heather
One of my glass cats is suddenly sick. He's getting this white stuff on him; the others all look healthy. I know the picture is a bit blurry, but i think you'll get the general idea what is going on.
What should I do?
I know these fish tend to be more sensitive to conventional treatments...
Can you tell yet?
I'm still baffled as to where these guys came from.
They look like platy to me, but the only real 'suspect" I have is a golddust molly.
Opinions?
Thanks!
Yah.. thought about that today as well. I saw on another thread that Petsmart has a tendency to put a high concentration of salt in their tanks. It is very possible that the mollies that I am buying are acclimated to a much higher salt content. I bought 2 Dalmatian mollies.. within days, both...
Okay so I just tested my tap water PH and it is the same as my aquarium PH; low (around 6.4-6.6).
Not doing anything is not working. My mollies seem fine for the first few days after I get them and gradually go down hill. I have not understood why until I did more research and learned they...
interesting about the petsmart salt levels. Every time I get a Molly or platy from petsmart it seems to go South fast.. same with Walmart fish. I've started adding more and more salt b/c I keep reading that mollies really like salt.. even read that they like to to a teaspoon per gallon!
I...
:silly:Hi again. :)
I broke down and ordered a true aqaurium water test kit as you guys told me I needed to quit using the strips.
I have been having trouble keeping my livebearers alive and I now think I know why.
My PH is very low.. between 6.4 and 6.6.
I've read that you can use...
Well the female I suspect I have had since she was a fry. I do have two others that I got about a month ago but I never saw a gravid spot and they never looked thick. Who knows! lol I think my dalmatian molly might be big enough.. she is much bigger than the platy?? fry. She is pecking at the...
I was able to get a bit better or a picture and I would agree.. its most likely a platy. I did not really pay attention to the tail before. I'm still happy with my little guys. I only see a total of 5 and was able to scoop them up. I guess the others got eaten. Any guess on how old these...
Hum. Whats weird is I don't have a male platy in the tank right now but I do have a male molly. The molly is a silver sailfin and the platy is solid orange. Weird. The other thing that throws me off is all of them have black tips.
Any guesses on what type of fry this might be? Found several of them in my tank today.. managed to put a few in my little fry tank. I have no clue what they are though.. I guess its a bit hard to tell when they are this small. I do have a couple mollies and platys, but they don't really...
