    New pet

I'm sitting here looking at my bare 75g tank which is almost at the end of cycling thanks to 7 Zebra Danios. Yesterday I paid for my oscar who I am going to name Felix. I will be picking him up next week (he will be the only fish that I keep in this tank after he eats the Danios). Anywho, it...

Is it possible to "slightly" overstock your tank?

I'm a big fan of PWC's also. I started doing a 50% weekly schedule (Monday mornings) 6 months ago and I really noticed increased colors and a general increase in health with my fish. Also, my water chemistry is always good. I haul alot of water across my house, but it's well worth it.

    are dwarf corydoras tight schoolers?

Same here Malkore. I have 6 in my 75 and they may occasionally sit on the gravel next to each other but that's it. It could be b/c they are not all the same species, I'm not sure. I thought that they'd school more.

What do I do about my fish?

Thanks for all the advise so far folks :) Julidochromis dickfeldi was one of the species that I was going to look into in more depth. Now I'll look into Neolamprologus brichardi and Altolamprologus calvus :D

    Looking for a quality heater

I like my Rena Cal Top Light Excel heaters. Submersible, easy to see temperature markings and accurate.

What do I do about my fish?

When I tear the tank down, would it be safe to put the HOB from the 20 on my 75 so I can keep my biological filtration going for the next setup?

What do I do about my fish?

I'd love nothing better than to get another tank. :D But it's not in the cards right now. I'm currently saving for a Ehiem 2260 to put on the 75. Then I want to get some PC lighting and CO2 for the plants in the 20. :D Hrm.. that reminds me that I 'm gonna need to also do a substrate...

What do I do about my fish?

I'm not sure yet. I finally made my mind up this morning. I would like to get a cichlid that is small enough to keep 1 or 2 of in the tank, is easy on plants ( b/c I want to try my hand at aquatic plants this tank) and one that can take my 8.8 ph water that is fairly hard. So most likely a rift...

My thoughts exactly! I'd go with 3. I'm partial to Julii corys. :D

What do I do about my fish?

After some thought, I have decided to make a small cichlid tank. I want to use my 20 gal tank but it's currently occupied. I also want to get rid of my 6 Giant Danios in my larger tank. What do people do when they want to start a new tank but don't want to wait years until the current population...

Running a HOB filter on a UPS

That would be good to know oxymoron. Yesterday my power went out for 4 hours and it got me to thinking about putting my heaters on a UPS. However, after going to American Power Conversion's web site and using their calculator to figure out how much UPS I need to keep 300 watts of 120v heaters...
