I have been feeding my Clown Knife feeder fish ever since i got it 6 weeks ago. I've tried to get him off this by feeding brine shrimp, beef liver, and sinking pellets. He won't touch any of these. I've even tried to drop food through a tube right in front of him in his hiding place but to no...
The reason i ask is because i purchased it from someone else. He hadn't mentioned any problem or concern with it but said it sat for maybe 8 years without use. He said he just wasn't into fish anymore. As far as the glass thickness is concerned, It is 3/8 inch thick, I measured it. My 40 gal...
The seals were overall in good shape except for the corners from top to bottom so i resealed it. Doesn't leak though and have had it up for 1 month now with no problems. Just don't know if this is acceptable though.
I have an old 55 gal glass aquarium made in 1979 that doesn't have a center brace. The glass 3/8 inch thick though. It bows about 2/8" - 3/8" when filled. Is this the norm for an old aquarium or should i look into putting a new frame with brace on top?

Currently its:
PH 7.6
Hardness 150ppm
Alkalinity 120ppm
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 20ppm
I've heard that the PH and Hardness should be alot lower than this. Is this really important for the health of this fish and if not, would he...
The tank is empty already because i just bought it at a garage sale. The crack isn't bad enough to cause it to tip over i don't think, it's only maybe 2 inches long and is still solid everywhere else.......I changed the top trim on another tank before but the bottom looks more involved.
I have a 55 gal aquarium and the bottom trim piece is cracked on the corner. It's pulling away from the glass. Does this affect the stability of tank or is it just for looks... Should i order a new bottom trim piece or just leave it alone???
I just bought a 55 gal. aquarium at a garage sale and it doesn't have any center bracing. It was manufactured in 1979 acording to the date sticker. It's not broke or missing or anything, it just wasn't made with one. The glass thickness is 3/8 inch and was just wondering if it just has thicker...
I have something i just can't get clean. The black top to my aquarium has a white haze on them. I've tried scrubbing and soaking them in vinager and it doesn't help. Are they just faded bad or can i try something else?
