Aquarium advice wished me a happy birthday! That's great!

I'm currently using t8 flouramax on my tank and it looks great and make my "lowlight plants" grow decently. I also use "leaf zone" and "co2 booster" by API

I wanna start a guppy and shrimp tank! I'm looking for some cool stuff to add. Red cherry shrimp, or some easily bred shrimp it's a 8 gallon square! I also have a 20gallon and a 50gallon now

My white ribbons seem to be not doing so well.. And I'm also starting to get brown Algae? I have a 20 gallon high tank. Lighting I'm using a t-8 floramax bulb. Using 2 API products- co2 booster and leaf zone. My substrate is fluval stratum. What can I do to make them healthier?
