well my hood will only take small lamps, and right now i have an 11 watt flourescent. i was thinking of upgrading to an incandescent mini power compact 50/50 10 watts. or maybe 15 if i can find a 15 watt power compact...
Thanks, that will help me out. i do want to add some colour, and i'd like to have something easy to care for and inexpensive. the live rock that i have has lots and i mean lots of holes and crevices so is that a good thing?
yea, i can see that i have a shell from a snail... but no snail. and the worm that was there before is nowhere to be seen.... oh well, i'm sure he is around somewhere on that rock. I'm hoping some mushrooms will maybe grow on my rock. *sigh* only time will tell...
I was just wondering.... what would i be able to grow on my rock? i saw at my lfs they had a live rock that already had a mushroom on it... i'd really like to see more stuff grow on my rock, instead of buying a coral or two in the future...
I do, it helps to reduce my ammonia and nitrites. i think that's why my ammonia has dropped so quickly :) next are my nitrites...i agree that i wouldn't want to chance cycling a tank with fish whether they are hardy or not. you just never know.
I think you are right about the percs not going near the replicas. one of my friends has percs and she says they never go near her replica lol i think what i am going to do instead is get a nicely shaped big piece of Live Rock and have that in the tank, and when i am ready i will get an anemone...
Well I am not in a rush to be adding anemones, but idealy I do not want to mix corals with anemones. I would most likely be getting only one anemone because i am not going to have a large tank for a while. but seeing as I am new to this i will probably stick with replicas of anemones until i...
Hi everyone, I just started cycling my FOWLR aquarium a week ago. I don't plan on adding any corals or anemone's for at least 6 months after my cycle is complete, but I am having a hard time deciding.... I want to get an Ocellaris Clownfish, and was reading into getting a Bubble tip anemone, but...
one of my friends who is also starting a sw aquarium said she has green algae (dots) on the glass from her previous fw setup. does she need to get rid of it? or is it okay to leave it be? i noticed some of those also in my tank as mine also was previously a fw setup and i never noticed the algae...
hello, i know how you feel about those bettas.... i'm a betta lover myself, although right now i only have two, a male and female. i don't have any photos of my female, but i could show you my male if you'd like. I've been caring for bettas since i was young, so i am fairly experienced with...
Don't be sorry for posting late, people have lives too lol thanks, i figured out that mousing over the abbreviation shows you what it stands for. very cool. i was thinking about starting with a damsel as i don't plan on having any real sea anemone's in my tank just yet as they are really...
