    AAACK Algae bloom

8-10 hours of artificial light (coralife 4x65) . The tank is in an entryway and the front door has two 6in wide by 36 in high panes of opaque glass. The LFS guys dont seem to think it should be an issue? I was under the assumption the diatom took all the good and bad from the water? I dont...

    AAACK Algae bloom

Im tired of pea soup in my 75 gal tank! Water tests perfect. Nitrates, Nitrites, Ammonia, KH, GH and even phosphates. Makes me grrr. We ran a diatom filter and it goes crystal clear yet goes back to bloom 2-3 weeks later. It wasnt as bad this time so running another diatom. Is it harmful...

    Aquarium and TVs

That was my main point. :) As for the LCD being my secondary the wife and I are gadget freaks. And DINKS ;) And the Xbox is true HD. :P Its amazing the struggle PS and Xbox folks have lol They are both great. I see it this way. Xbox is geared more to the adult gamer. PS bridges both...

    Aquarium and TVs

It was up there. Wasnt distracting to me at all. There is NO way the TV was falling off the wall so that wasnt a worry. As far as the PS2 being better than the 360? 8O No. The tank looks really good where its at now. Im happy with the location. Cycling now, used Eco complete. Planted some...

    Aquarium and TVs

Ah but the graphics are much much better. Especially in HD. I also moved the aquarium and the TV back down the wall. The tank is now in the living room. So you see the 75 in the entry and as you sit down the other tank is off to the right of the big TV, separated by a wall :) Looks good...

    Aquarium and TVs

Hmm. A bit of a conundrum. Its really the only spot I can use. I wonder if a hood would stop enough of it. The top of the tank to the TV would be 29 inches. And then the tank is a foot out from the TV. Wonder if homeowners would cover it. :) As for the distraction angle. The TV mounted 6...

    Aquarium and TVs

Im setting up another tank. The ol MTS has struck. I recently hung an LCD TV up and now have a stand ready for a tank. Does anyone have a feeling about evaporation and the TV above the tank? Is this a smart idea or?

Question on starting a tank from existing one.

So the 70gal planted has been set up for about 6 months now. Water tests good. We are fighting algae blooms but otherwise good to go. We started with Neons. Added some Headlight/Taillight tetras. Then on to Angels etc. The Angels are getting big enough that they are picking on the neons...

    New 75G update/Direct Sunlight Q

Well its cycled. Been about a month. Took the water in to test and was given the go ahead to start adding fish. Going with an angel theme. I have a question on the direct sunlight. We have the tank in the entryway and it does get a dose of direct sunlight as the sun rises through two 6"w...
