If you have a food sealer you can cut the bag and seal it into smaller ones. I go four of "the bag"s and cut them down into enough bags for 2 55 tanks, a 10, a 20 and a 75. Two bags per tank so I can put in a new one while the used one is regenerating, so a total of 10 bags!
I use an auto feeder all the time on my leopard ctenepoma tank. They are so shy it works well - they can be fed while I'm not standing by the tank. I use the autochef and love it.

I've always figured it is because the temp sensor is at the "top" of the heater. If it heats the water in the vertical position, that warm water rises and the heater may turn off too soon. If it's horizontal, the warm water rises away from the heater and temp sensor.
