That was another concern I had about changing from the standard hood lighting system to one that stands a couple inches above the tank.. I would definitely be interested in ways of keeping the light from shining in peoples face when viewing the tank.

The bulb in there now is probably 5+ years old and it says it is a GE AquaRays 20 watt. I'm pretty sure it isn't full spectrum and it has a slight purple hue to it. So the advice would be to get a T5 full spectrum bulb like the example in my first post?
