I’ll lower the temp, thanks for the advice.
I thought the fish in the tank supply the BB with ammonia...
I’ll start with the 50% water changes
The filter has never dried out...
I don’t know what to do about the black marks... is it a parasite or a fungus..?
I have 4 black widow tetra, one angel fish, one Molly, 6 neon tetra, 4 golden barb, two bristle nose plecos and two more tetras.
If that’s too many I do have a spare tank but it’s only 25 litres.
The guy in my local fish shop told me to have the temperature to 29
The tank has been running...
Hi, I have a a 135 liter tank with 20 fish of various species (all tropical). Four of those fish are Black Widow tetra. Two of said tetra has strange black marks on them, I’ve looked closely and they bulge out of the fish slightly so I know it’s not the colouration of the fish.
I’ve tried to...
I have a 135 litre tank with 23 fish of various freshwater species (Tetra, Mollies, Gouramis, louches and shrimp). Two of these fish are a breeding pair of German Blue ram cichlids. I noticed this morning that the female wasn’t swimming properly and couldn’t propel herself forward in the water...
I have a female Dalmatian Molly in a 135 gallon tank (amongst other fish) there are currently no male mollies in the tank but I bought her recently from an Aquatics shop so she would have been impregnated there. I’ve had her for 3 weeks and she’s had the same size belly for 17 days now. I intend...
Yes. Baby fish do not get nurtured by their parents like most animals do so they have to figure out what’s not going to eat them and what is on their own. Once they associate you with feeding they’ll get the idea.
Thanks for the quick response, those plastic plants are no longer in the tank, I have some floating plants and a tropical plants with big leaves. The filter might still have medicine in it as it was a quarantine tank, shall I just do loads of water changes or buy new sponges and cycle it all...
I have a small 3 American gallon/ 12 litre tank that I normally used as a quarantine tank but I recently got a 6.6 American gallon/25 litre tank for that and now have nothing to do with the old one, I don’t really want to throw it out (I wanna make I a normal fish tank). Can I put a beta in...
How far off do you think she is? Days? Weeks? She’s just swimming around normally in the tank, there is no abnormal breathing and she’s not chasing anyone away, I can’t see a gravid spot on her because of her colours so I really don’t know how long to expect to wait?
There is not sigh of sticking up scales. If they can carry sperm in them like that then it is more likely that she is pregnant. I’ve heavily planted the tank and put some floating plants there too. Hopefully I’m not just imagining things! ?
The fish from my friends tank all died after having a full life, he’s been in my tank for about 1 month. Do you know what he is, maybe I could read up on him?
