They are "aggressive" if you wanna call it that, but its nothing like normal cichlid aggression. I cannot believe they would kill each other, and they never bother the other fish. Their "aggression" is mostly making faces at each other and pushing each other with their mouth, but they're not...

I think they're helpful for certain, but dang I sure wish they didn't reproduce so fast!! 8O I have a tank full in my 55. It started with 10, and there are literally hundreds if not thousands now. I'm going to have to cull the population pretty quickly here...

That's how this was, Jeff. Usually she was upside down underneath the log. Occasionally, she would sit on the substrate beneath it and you could see her sillouette in the darkness but we could never enjoy her pretty spots. I'm so glad she decided to come out! :D

After almost exactly a year of hiding under a log, our peppermint pleco has decided to explore the tank. We thought this fish was going to stay under that log for her entire life. The only time she would peek out even a tiny bit was when the lights were off and her algae wafer didn't fall...

Although I haven't kept them, from what I know about cichlids, angels would not be compatible with sevrums. Angels are mildly aggressive at best and wouldn't stand a chance in a tank with most other cichlids. They would do okay with rams or other small, mellow South Americans, but certainly...

Sorry to hear it, Menagerie... for what its worth, the Jungle Fungus Clear helped my polit make it through the mess I was having in my cichlid tank (I lost three other cichlids first, though). I sure wish I could help. :(

Well, I lost one of the exasperatus tonight... :( The other one still won't come out and eat. I'm seeing a pattern here. Three of the four fish who have died were all very skittish, as is the remaining exasperatus. Perhaps the danios were stressed too--they didn't hide but they swim so...

Well, no changes to report so I guess no news is good news. My exasperatus (both) have not come out to feed for a few days and I'm worried about them. I can see them, but they've always been horribly skittish and won't come out if I'm near the tank. The polit is just a little piggie, begging...
