    Plant ID thanks!

Yesterday, I made a “subwassertang pole”-like thing out of that pile of plant and a plastic rod cut to size, tied it on with thread, I have it front right. Also attached some to the sponge filter end of my HOB.

    Plant ID thanks!

Could someone please ID this plant that has mounded up nicely in my low tech setup? Someone local I bought some RCS from gave me some of this in the shrimp bag for padding for ‘em. It’s quite overgrown and I wanted to get some ideas of what to do with it. I was thinking of using something like...

    Algae on plants

Every last leaf on about 12 different stems of moneywort turned to mush, had to remove all of them. There were 2 left unscathed, they happen to be away from the filter return where the others were, I wonder if their location in front of the return stressed them? I hate that because I really...

    Water chemistry question

Re: snail shells left behind after assassin snail eats them. Is there any negative effect of the snail shells remaining in aquarium? My assassins have taken out a lot of snails and my black substrate is littered with white shells. Will they calcify the water or anything like that? Sent from my...

    Aquarium Snails

I have 2 assassin snails and they have wiped out hundreds of pest snails. I just actually saw one eat a snail moments ago for the first time. Thats a snail in his clutches (the foot) and that's an empty he just finished off to the right. The empty shell is the first one I saw him eat, the one...

    ODD neon tetra behavior

You may have heard of "fainting goats"... I have a planted Fluval Edge with Java moss and fern, anubias nana and some mystery plant that grows like crazy with the stock light kit and no ferts, that I constantly have to trim. I've had the setup for almost a year with zero casualties and I enjoy...

    Assassin snails

Thanks for that advice! They did separate a couple days ago but have gotten back together again. Both snails are still alive! I have some snails in another tank I can throw in there, but there are still a good number of small snails in their tank. But I see those snails crawl right across them...

    Assassin snails

I have 2 assassin snails. They have killed all the problem snails I had that are of any size. Now, they have been stuck together for about 3 weeks. They move about some, but they are attached together constantly. Can anyone say what's going on here? Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Glass or Acrylic

I'm planning out my 3rd aquarium. My current 2 are small planted tanks, a 5 gallon Marineland and a 6 gallon Fluval Edge. I love both of them, the 5 gal especially because it has taught me so much in the 2 years I've had it. But both tanks reside in my kids rooms. I want one too! And I want to...

    Post your Betta Pics Here

I adjusted the photo so you could see him- this is "Red Fish" (creative name given by my 4yo daughter) "sleeping" on an anubias leaf in the moonlight. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Snails help, no fish yet

That one spot on front of my tank pic is a bubble. These snails are very very small. Like the size of my betta's eyeball. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice
