    Ghost Shrimp vs. Bamboo Shrimp

I plan on stocking a bamboo shrimp with 4 or 5 ghost shrimp and was wondering if they would get along. I'll be getting a full grown bamboo shrimp and younger ghost shrimp. Bamboo shrimp are filter feeders without claws, but i'm more concerned about the ghost shrimp stressing him out too much...

    Starting a new 29G tank

I'm using a piece of filter media from an other tank, so cycling should be rather short... I have a bio-wheel and using a double filter carbon/coral media. Sand substrate (could be changed to something else if needed). Was considering a planted tank, but I've never had a planted tank before and...

    Upgrading to Planted Tank

Right now my tank has no live plants. The fish seem to be doing well. My tank is 1+ year old and I've been looking for some sort of change. No idea on where to start if I want a planted tank... 29 Gal, 79°/80°F, Freshwater, Bio-wheel 200, Full Spectrum Light 10 hours/day, Sand Substrate...

    Is this okay

Every fish has it's own personality. Some bettas might get aggressive, some might not. I've never had luck with bettas and guppies in the same tank, but other people have. It really does depend from individual fish to the next. However, bettas tend to be aggressive towards other "flashy" fish...

    Redtailed Black Shark Going CRAZY!!!

I test it at home. I don't trust the strips. Every time I go to the pet store to have it tested, they say my nitrates are over the roof and try to sell me some kind of "solution." I've been testing my water at home for over a year with no false results yet. Tested the water again just a few...

    Redtailed Black Shark Going CRAZY!!!

He seemed to be alright when I went to bed last night, but this morning when I turned on their light, my RTS was belly up at the bottom. :( Other fish seem to be okay and my water tests came back good. Did a 50% water change and am fasting the fish for a day. Let's hope whatever killed my baby...

    Ammonia levels high need help!!!

You only have to rinse them off...filters don't "go bad" they just collect a lot of junk...wash the junk off and you have a "just like new" set of filters...

    Ammonia levels high need help!!!

You really shouldn't change the bio wheel or the filters that often. They contain the "good bacteria" that break down your waste. When you take out that bio filter, you're basically starting over.
