    The meet went very well, had a turn out of around 10 people. We traded/sold some frags and then went to another members house to check out his display tank and prop. setup. Nothing scheduled for the future yet, but a couple people have expressed interest in hosting at their houses.

    To skim or not to skim!

    Skim! I think macroalgae filters/refugiums can be a valuable addition to a tank, but quite often they are too small to truly eliminate the need for a skimmer on most systems. IMO/IME the advantages of skimming far outweigh the drawbacks.

    I think in this case he was suggesting a 125 since it is the smallest standard size 6' tank still readily available. Since surgeonfish tend to be pretty active swimmers, a 6' tank is generally accepted as the minimum aquarium size needed as they grow larger.
