I bought a tetra heater, which is what I have in my other tank. Also, I always unplug them before a water change. I think it was probably a combination of turning up the temperature too quickly and it being an old heater.

thanks. my friends currently have 3 gold fish in their 29 gal tank. i have 2 black moors in a 10 gal tank and am looking to rehome them, as they are *obviously* in a tank that is too small for them and i cant afford a bigger tank
something colorful that i can keep a few of...i currently have 2 moors...love that kind of fish. but they need to be rehomed. i like bigger fish, so dont want tiny ones that i can keep 10-15 of. i want maybe 3-4 fish, so if they are a little bigger, that is fine
