You would suggest the 12 over the 8 k lights? Do they still grow plants as well? I'm also wondering about a moonlight. Do you think the actinic strip would be too bright for that purpose?

I just saw they have a dimmer available so I would assume I could get the dimmer if I have too much light for my tank. Do they look as good in reality as they appear to online? Thanks for taking the time to help me.

I've looked At that chart but they recommend 2 fixtures and the par rating of those lights put it at highlight light, thus my fear of algae . Any thoughts?

Ok, I changed my water today 25% and everyone looks happy in the tank. I bought 2 panda cories and am drip acclimating them before adding them to the tank. Wish me luck!

That's always possible as well. I'm always amazed at how bad our supposedly fresh water actually tastes out of the tap.

I guess it just shows no matter how long I keep fish there is always the chance something can and will go wrong eventually.
