in my little 20 i just dump the 5 g bucket into there - a gallon's about 8 pounds so 5 gallons is gonna weigh like 40 pounds, which isnt so bad. Make sure to pour slowly if you choose this method because the flow of the water can really kick up a lot of sand or move around your gravel

i'm not sure how far 100 dollars will take you exactly, but i know that it wont take you too far. also, it may not be your lights that is causing that algea growth. are you using an RO/DI unit? or tap water? if you are using tap water, its highly recomened to switch to RO/DI for a reef set up...

what size tank are you using? this will depend on how mig your sump needs to be. a good way to build a sump is to build it as big as possible can fit under your aqaurium (if this is where u are planning to put it). follow that GARF instructions on building a tank, then ad the dividers etc as...
