Thank you so much! I definitely knew I had to do something to ensure my fish were fine, just didn't know what :lol: Thanks to you they'll be happier with their live plants AND beneficial bacteria, you're the best!
This is the gravel I use btw I'll change it soon
Sorry I'll be more specific :( right now it's decorated with plastic algae, but I want to give it aquarium plants that need a special substrate for nutrients and sunlight!
I think my fish would be happier if his tank was decorated with algae instead of plastic, but I don't know if I can do it inmediately or have to wait for the tank to cycle :( My fish has been two years in this tank, so they've pretty much settled (phew!) But all of the aquarium plants died due...
So sorry to hear that :( Somehow it could have been the bottled water you were buying; I’d make sure to use a dechlorinator just in case. Anyhow, do you have any decorations that could lower the pH of the aquarium? Sea shells and unknown rocks that you may have bought could be messing it up...
In my case, when they don't want to eat it's that they're either sick (so sorry to hear that!) or bad quality flakes - I'd recommend to make sure to buy fish flakes for their fish species.
I know I haven't posted for a while and I'm desperate for help because Lemon, one of my tetra Glofish has a gash in his dorsal fin
I cleaned the tank a few days ago and today I noticed of his splitted fin there, I don't know if it was when I used the aquarium fish net or the decorations inside...
Hi Cutty, I’m so sorry about what happened with your bosemani :( In my experience when a fish is in the top of the aquarium there’s an issue with lack of oxygenation;
Do you have a filter as powerful enough for your tank? And if so, I recommend checking your water parameters with a good test...
Yeah, when I was little there was a fair in my mall and we won two Budgies. Needless to say that in my opinion giving any live animals as prizes is a horrible practice since they need responsible owners to thrive
Having pets in general requires a lot of responsibility and as thrilled as I was...
There could also be the possibility that they jumped out. Specially if your fish tank doesn't have a lid! Check the area around the tank just in case to see if they're in the ground - Fish disappearing mysteriously is really weird
Welcome to Aquarium Advice! That's great to hear :) My advice if you get more fry from now on would be getting a breeding box - And let them grow up there until they can defend themselves from other platys.
I'm so sorry for what happened to your Cories! If you didn't see anything weird on them, they probs died from a natural cause. I'm sure they lived a healthy and happy life because of you :)
