    Tiny Starfish

They are eating my coralline algae. I have noticed a huge decline in the algae, and I have a very well established tank. I'd like to keep my coralline lol

    Tiny Starfish

Yea, I am wrong about the name. Any idea on how to get rid of them?

    Tiny Starfish

I have noticed a few dozen (that I can see right off hand) of the little bitty starfish. I was wondering what (if anything) eats these things. Since I have seen them, I have also noticed my coralline algae is being eaten. How do I get rid of these things without tearing my tank apart?

    New Corals

I just added some new corals to my tank. They are Elongata Xenia, Galaxia, Fire and Ice Zoas and something called Sunshine. They look like zoas, but they have VEERRY long hairlike skirts, and they are sunny yellow. They were all thriving and healthy looking in the tank that we bought it from...

    Help with mushroom coral.

You shouldn't have corals and anemones in the same tank for the simple fact that anemones move around and sting your corals.

    Dying Anemone What now?

get that thing out of your tank immediately if you think it was dying, because your whole tank could possibly suffer. When they do die, they kinda turn inside out and form a ball of black gross stuff. I had one die about 2 years ago and haven't had one since.

    Zoa's thinning out

My hammer coral is far away from any of my zoas, because I do know that they can sting. The zoas that are thinning are very far away from the hammer, atleast 18 inches. The zoas that are left are very open and still acting normally to the passing fish and critters. The colors are still as bright...

    Zoa's thinning out

I have a unicorn tang, a regal blue tang, percula clown, lyretail anthias, mandarin goby. I have a Marineland pro series light with a 150 watt 20k halide and 4 39 watt actinics. I just changed my bulbs, but the thinning out started happening before I did that, so I don't think I'm burning them...

    Zoa's thinning out

I have several different types of zoanthids in my tank, and they have all been thriving for a long while. Just a few weeks ago, I noticed alot of them have been plucked off my rock and some are just floating around, or are in a corner of my tank. Now, my pink ones (which just so happen to be my...

Thanks. Now, have you ever seen one like this?

    Some type of astrea starfish?

I guess I have been saying the name of the starfish wrong, so someone please correct me so I don't sound like an idiot anymore.

    Some type of astrea starfish?

I saw this on the overflow box in my tank. I have about 4 or 5 small astrea starfish that I know of, and they are about the size of a pea or smaller. This thing is about the size of a quarter, and as soon as I turned the lights on over my tank, (I was changing the bulbs) it went back down into...

a friend of mine has decided to start a saltwater tank. I have had mine running for a few years and I can't remember if you do water changes when a new tank is cycling or not. Advice?
