Some type of astrea starfish?

I saw this on the overflow box in my tank. I have about 4 or 5 small astrea starfish that I know of, and they are about the size of a pea or smaller. This thing is about the size of a quarter, and as soon as I turned the lights on over my tank, (I was changing the bulbs) it went back down into the rocks, never to be seen again. Apparently, this thing has been in my tank for a long time to get as big as it is. I have a sandsifter star, and it looks just like it, but I thought they had to have a mate to reproduce. And ideas?

I guess I have been saying the name of the starfish wrong, so someone please correct me so I don't sound like an idiot anymore.

No! I have many in my tank but the biggest I've seen is almost the size of a dime, and that pushing it! That one is huge!!
