I posted a pic, did it not work?
My major goal for this tank is to start keeping SPS corals in 8 months to a year. I'd really like to keep a few species of Acros, but after talking to some of the folks at my LFS it sounds like no one around here has much luck with Acros which leads me to...
Hi guys, after almost a year exactly of looking at my empty 65 sitting in the living room and the buckets of rock on the deck my wife finally laid down an ultimatum I have to either set it back up or she was going to give it away. Between her threat and the guys at the local fish store bugging...
Well, I hate to have to announce this, but I think this tank is done for. I just tore it all down today so i could get the tank moved to the new house and I'm not sure I have the drive to set it back up atm. :-(
After getting down into the tank after a few months of neglect due to family and...
It'll have to wait a bit longer... I'm in the process of moving at the moment. So I've been pretty lax in my care of the tank. Everything still looks ok, but sometime in the next 2-3 weeks I've gotta tear it all down and move it to the new house so I've been putting off some maintenance. Sad...
part 3
Newest zoas, their pretty large, but not as colorful as the pic on Divers Den seemed.
The orange monti is still hanging in there.
and the "loco" Lobo Lobophytum. I really like this one cause each polyps look like daises.
The toadstools are doing well, the neon green tipped one...
Other photos for viewing enjoyment
I ordered the purple tree corals and the lemon tree corals after all, the purple is the only one that's made it so far. They were both kind of sorry looking when deliever. They both looked like they were recently glued to the frag plug and the "lemon tree"...
OK, small updates. Think I've added two new fish to tank since my last update. Got a Tail Spot Blenny
Mr Blenny in his home
and a Yellow Assessor
If your looking for a really odd fish, I'd highly recommend the assessor. He swims at odd angles a lot and I often find him swimming upside down...
Gonna take a few days for updates... had the day off so I did some tank maintenance which involved some fragging, and as much as I hate it, I had to epoxy one of my plugs to a larger rock so the hermits would quit knocking it off. Bad part of using the epoxy is that it's gonna be a few days...
Here's the remaining Xenia's
The GSPs have remained slightly temper-mental, but honestly I think they could just use a good fragging.
The orange monti seems ok still.
I can't really tell if the frag of it's growing much though.
I don't think the purple monti's got long for this world...
More pics
Heres pics of the old corals. Starting with the Neon Green Palau Nephthea. Cause I really like it.
My second fave, the "Pavona maldivensis"
Next ups the green zoas
The pink zoas
The big pink zoas. Its creepy to see the horror i've reaped on this guys if you go back and look at...
New Pics
Ok, picture update time. First off, full tank shot
Secondly, flasher wrasse shots, starting with the one I believe to be a male.
and I think this "might" be one of the females...
Now comes pics of the new corals. Starting with the "loco lobo" which will be getting moved or...
I didn't get a pic of the Monti Cap cause when i pulled off the PC fixture to add some top off water I realized that it was almost totally outside the range of the MH bulbs, so I cut off the stem of the frag plug and moved it to a better spot.
The odd thing is the Pavona maldivensis. It also...
OK time for pics.
First off, FTS
The orange Montipora digitata
The Green Zoa's (not actually sure if that's growth, or if they've gotten moved around a bit since the last pic.
I moved the purple Montipora digitata cause it wasn't looking so hot. It's now a little higher and a little more...
Ok, minor update time... mostly cause I'm bored at work atm. Today makes about 4 weeks that I've had the flasher's with no signs of anything odd, so I guess I may have dodged a bullet on them.
I've lost my first coral though, the acro died out. Went from normal to totally white in 3 days. The...
Finally managed to snag a couple of pics of the flashers, well, at least the one I think is a male.
Lost a lot of the color on the second pic, but it took almost 2 hours to get one that was more than a really pretty blur. For all I know it's just a yawn cause most of the time the color...
