    28g to 55g upgrade

Thanks guys. I'm wanting to do a nice archway in this tank, since I have a bigger footprint to work with. I plan on using fiberglass rods, and figured it would take some time to get everything assembled even if I have a game plan before I start. I was shooting for the live rocks being out of the...

    28g to 55g upgrade

Thanks, I guess that's what I'll do. The other rocks that have been cycling separately, how long could they be out of the water without harming the bacteria? Also, am i correct to assume the new tank shouldn't experience a cycle?

    28g to 55g upgrade

Hello all, I'm nearing the point of being able to fill my new tank and get this show on the road. I have an existing 28g nanocube, all the rocks from it will be moved to the 55g. I also have 30 pounds or so of rock that came with the 55g, which were in rough shape because it seemed like he just...

    Very salty dry rock

Ok. I haven't tested it yet, but I'll just continue soaking, and changing the water. It will be a bit after Christmas before I can start working on the tank. Thanks!

    Very salty dry rock

Hello all, this past weekend I bought a used 55 gallon saltwater set up. I can only assume that he let the water evaporate out of the tank, because the rock and gravel was one solid piece. It had to soak before I could pull anything out. He mentioned that he had a lot of trouble with phosphates...

    At wits end with 28gallon

I have a jbj 28 gallon nanocube. With a handfull of crabs and snails, two fish and a few corals. Since about June/July of last year I have been battling what I've assume is red algae. I started off by adding another powerhead. Then made water changes more frequently. Then made them less...

how did you come about this hobby?

My parents had a tank back when I was really little and I always wanted one of my own once I was older. Finally I talked my grandma (lol) into buying me a fantail goldfish and a vase thing like they had for bettas. I really don't know how long I had him before I talked them into letting me buy a...

Sarah's 5 gallon pico reef build

WELL. Here's what's been going on. Basically I havent really worked on this tank at all. I've been gone for a week and had my sister giving the remaining Molly ( the male died for seemingly no reason) food every couple days. Well I just came back to find 6 babies in there with her. The tank is...

    Possible new tank!

She called it a biocube, so I assumed it was the oceanic. I was going back and forth between the biocube and JBJ nano cube back in December. As far as the price, if it's in good shape it's a good price. I am on the fence about reviews. I feel like most people really only take the time to give...
