I think they are beneficial when they are small but when they grow big they may start to eat things you don't want them too

i have a via aqua 55w power compact lighting system it has two 21" 55w bulbs i can only find 65w bulbs will they work with my ballast? How many hours are these bulbs good for?

thanks that really puts it into perspective i decided not to put it in my tank not because of chemicals i would have made it with silicone but because i could not make it perform steadily
