if you are going to keep Cichlids you might as well get used to it, that is just the way they are , no fun to lose fish but it is going to happen as hard as you try to discourage it.i have lost 1 a week for the run of a month then all is ok someone in there was P.O. and took it out on the rest ...

can't see a fixed power head cleaning those pots out ....

you will be surprised how much rock work you can add to a tank, the only issue i would see with the cichlid stone is cleaning out debris that may collect in there

29 is a small footprint for cichlids they need their own space to call their "own" you should not put anymore in there , you can go with the smaller species of cichlids but these guys will get 4-5 inches in no time my 2 cents worth :) good luck

+1 on that one why risk it , break the tank down and go from there not worth the risk and stress of when is it going to let go.

sand is a preferred substrate , the majority of cichlids like to dig.

if you took the seal off of the corners and the glass detached there was no silicone put between the panes before it was assembled or did you cut right thru to the outside of the tank. at this point i would break the whole tank down and resilicone it. no worries in the future dave

i looked around for a long time for an ac110 used, everybody is hanging on to them then someone was selling off a lot of fw stuff and i snagged a bag with 7 ac filters from the mini to to the 110 for 50 bucks , i am still grinnin :)

would not use anything else , no leaks... you can modify the media to suit your needs.... easy to clean , moves a lot of water ....all round good filter.

yes there are some vids that are overstocked , but i was referring to the actual lake dives to give an idea of the types of rocks etc. that are there. it is whatever turns your crank as to what you want your setup to look like.
