You can put a gate valve on the outlet from the powerhead and adjust the flow rate as needed... I have a powerhead that is slightly to powerful for my skimmer, the valve has allowed me to turn the flowrate down slightly and now it works a treat... Only a couple of dollars from any hardware store. :)

If you have a big enough sump you can place the live rock in there, it will then do the same job for filtration whilst decreasing the amount of maintainece required. And will be out of sight if thats what you want :)

Welcome... Im a newbie as well, I have a 180 gallon FOWLR, I love sharks!!! but Id go at least 300 gallon if you want your sharks to have a long and happy life IMO... :wink:

Hey duaumen, Got your email.., Im partial to morays and lionfish myself and have based my new 180 gallon setup around them, I like the snowflake and zebra morays but from what ive read you need to plan carefully what you put with them. Let me know what you choose!!! this is the fun bit!!!
