Thanks for your advice reefrunner69... I went on a mission last night after I posted that message and pulled apart my live rock structure... I found a decaying ?sponge of some sort (about the size of a golf ball)... gross. It was jammed between two large pieces of LR. So you were right...

My long lost rainbow sharky love!!!

I have to agree with e-cat. Ive had rainbow sharks before and always found they do well with only one per tank... Once they mature (and get bigger) they can become aggressive towards there own kind IME. I had a large rainbow for about 6 years got to about 4 inches, i tried adding a couple of...

    protein skimmer question

You can put a gate valve on the outlet from the powerhead and adjust the flow rate as needed... I have a powerhead that is slightly to powerful for my skimmer, the valve has allowed me to turn the flowrate down slightly and now it works a treat... Only a couple of dollars from any hardware store. :)

Is there a fish only tank?

If you have a big enough sump you can place the live rock in there, it will then do the same job for filtration whilst decreasing the amount of maintainece required. And will be out of sight if thats what you want :)
