Its been a while since I have posted but I thought I would share. My cycle is finally complete! Ammonia = 0 Nitrite = 0 Nitrate = 0 Calcium = 400 pH = ~8.0 (a little low but should come up)

Are you using the bubble diffuser? If you are, the foam pad in the bottom may need to be cleaned out.

It was the one plumbed after the membrane. The other problem was the membrane wasn't sealing in its fixture. I found that this is a common problem with the cheap units. They use an inexpensive Chinese knockoff membrane. I used a ton of teflon tape to get it to sit properly.

Definitely now that it works, definitely worth the $. However, its prime example of the necessity of a TDS meter.
