Please help to identify my cichlid

I recently inherited a new tank (30 tall) for the summer to fish-sit. It has two residents, which I may or may not keep depending on care and compatability. The first I have identified as Libidochromis caeruleus (East African Lake Cichlid, Lake Malawi, Mbuna) - Electric Yellow Cichlid. The...

how often do people change filters?

I have one of those over the side style biowheel filters with two filter inserts. I never change the bio wheels. I have yet to change out the filter inserts and I've had three set-ups for over two years. When I get a new tank I throw the old filter insert in the new fitler and the new insert in...

    Corel in a Brackish Tank?

Would I have to set-up a small marine tank to do the aclimatizing - then slowly add fresh water to make the switch-over? I would assume that the set up featured would probably have gotten the corals from a natural source vs the aclimatization method. I dunno. Whatya think? The photo doesn't look...

    Coral in Brackish Setup?

Check out this link: http://www.aquahobby.org/tanks/tank0108a.html The last picture in this article features coral and plants together in a Brackish setup. Has anyone else seen or heard of this. I would love to keep coral in my Brackish tank. How possible is this?
