Flowerhorns try to eat everything any anything. They're constantly moving things around. I hate to say it, but I don't know anyone who's sucessfully kept plants with flowerhorns or anything with flowerhorns other than a mate.
You're definitely going to need a fertilizer source with your setup. Make sure you keep your CO2 consistently high and dose regularly. With the amount of lighting you'll have, i doubt you'll have any issues growing glosso =D
You're regulator is cranked up very high. The right gauge almost reads 10..but that's 10 kg/cm^2. It's recommended that you run it at 10-25psi. You're at nearly 140 psi. This will make adjusting the regulator with the needle valve very difficult.
Also, with such a high pressure rating you run...
I use 250/500ml squeeze bottles with twist squirt caps. I bought them for under a dollar at any nail supply store. They also have larger 1L bottles which i use for traces.
It's a very common idea to check your CO2 levels when BBA is present in the tank. It is documented very well on some other aquatic plant forums. I'm not sure if direct linking is allowed, so I will not post it here directly. Anyways, you should really take a look at some articles geared towards...
I'm not 100% sure, but I think you're missing a few elements in your new tank. From what you've posted, it sounds like you aren't running an sort of CO2 and dosing at a very small amount. BBA is generally linked with a low presence of CO2 in higher light tanks. 96w of PC lighting (and i'm...
My AHsupply 2x13 did not come with two switches. Also i feel that 2.6wpg is quite a bit of light and will need co2 in a 10g. It's not enough to grow much of the extremely high light plants (such as cambomba furcata or rotola magenta var narrow) but it is enough grow glosso horizontal provided...
I guess it could work if you could black out the tank during the day. Covering it with something or blacking out a window. May become a hassle over time.
Generally 2wpg is the breakpoint of co2. Anything after that point it's going to require the use of Co2. Not to mention ferts in some form. Plants then use the co2 and release o2. This is where pearling comes from...that is if your plants produce an extreme amount of o2. At night, I believe...
Unfortunately there is not an Do-It-All Fertilizer. If macro and micronutrients were combined some of them would react to eachother and for insoluable nutrients. That's why most people dose Nitrate-Potassium-Phosphates together and dose micronutrients seperately. I haven't had a chance to try...
Anyone have an experience growing java fern plantlets emersed? I have alot of new plantlets sprouting up. Unfortunately i don't really have a suitable grow out tank and was thinking about setting up an emersed setup.
