re So how do I provide more CO2? What fertilizers do you reccomend? The dealer at the pet store said that since I was using Onyx as a soil for the plants that I wouldn't need fertilizer.

I have 3 love plants in my 6 gallon tank. Will they create enough oxygen to replace an airpump? I do not want to deprive the fish I am going to put in of oxygen. Thank for the help.

It has cleared up pretty well. What I actually did after a water change was remove most of the Onyx from the front of the tank, I just kept it where I planted the plants, and about 2 inches around the plants, and put normal gravel around the rest of the tank. Is this an ok procedure to do...

Would adding some water clarifier hurt the situation?

Actually, I washed it pretty well, for about 45 minutes before I put it in. I was thinking about doing a water change too if it does not clear up by tomorrow morning. Any other suggestions?

I went away for a couple of days and I noticed a real thick buildup of crust around my top rim of my tank and down the back walls of it. I only put in water treatment and a little bit of sea salt. Is this the salt evaporating out of the water or is it built up bacteria or something else?

I just got a breand new 45 gallon tank and I have a Rena airpump and a visitherm heater. I wanted to know if a Aqua Clear Filters by Hagen would be a good choice for my filtration.
