    Scooter blenny feeding.

What? I have to take it back, it's a ten gallon tank! The guy at my LFS said they were same care as lawnmower blenny. I got him so he would eat algae in my tank, I can't keep him

    Scooter blenny feeding.

So I got some zoas today and a scooter blenny. The zoas haven't opened up yet but I've heard it can take a while. I know the scooter blenny feeds off algae but my tank is pretty clean, and I know you can feed him frozen mysis or bryne shrimp, I'm just wondering how often? If anyone has one any...

    What is this?

Yes a skimmer will definitely help. it removes nutrients and proteins from the water before they break down into nitrates and phosphates that fuel the algae

    T5 lighting for bta?

You probably wouldn't have to replace them like t5s either right?

    90 gallon fish

What do you have in the tank already? I would get a mandarin goby if you don't already have one. There beautiful but I think they only eat live Copepods. I've always wanted one but my tanks not big enough.

    T5 lighting for bta?

Yeah the more I find out and research, the more I think it's not right for my tank. Think I will just go with some softies, but even then I think It would still be wise to upgrade my lighting

    What is this?

I agree with Mr. X as far as adding another fish. That is not the answer If you have cyano there's most likely one or two underlying problems 1) you either have too many fish in your tank or 2) your not doing enough water changes Cleaning your tank once a week and doing a water change SHOULD be...

    T5 lighting for bta?

So I have a 24" t5 fixture, with two 24" 14 watt t5 bulbs - one actinic blue and one 10,000K. My tank is small: 24" long, 6" wide 12" high bow front, so exactly one cubic foot (roughly 8 gallon tank). I want to get a bta for my clown (I know my tank is small, but if I stay committed to top...

    Newbie to reef tanks

Thanks for pointing that out. I researched lighting a bit and it seems like what matters more is the type of lighting rather than wattage. 6 T5 HO at 24 watts each in my little 10 gallon would be over 14 watts per gallon that's just over kill. I would think that would be bad for my fish lol

    Newbie to reef tanks

I have researched the bta that seems to be the best option if I'm gonna get a nem. At first I was thinking about a Haitian but I haven't heard anything good about them

Okay I'll ask the people at my LFS about how much light they recommend. Thanks for clearing that up for me. It sounds like if I just keep at it with maintenance I should be okay

    Newbie to reef tanks

Thanks for the reply! I have 2 T5 14 watt 24" one actinic blue, and ones 10,000K daylight. I just got new bulbs a month ago. My filter is designed for a twenty gallon tank so when it's on a high setting it creates plenty of water flow. I just don't know what kind of supplements I need. Like...

    Newbie to reef tanks

So I have had a saltwater fish only tank for a few years its small, only about ten gallons. But I want to put coral in or an anemone (I think my tank may be too small for one). I have the right lighting and i am good at keeping my ph, temp, salinity and nitrate levels (all the basics), but I...
