    LTA question

Thanks, that's what I thought - it's too pretty to damage. I'll try to get a picture up later when I can find my camera.

    LTA question

I haven't been on for a long time - and now I have an important question. My tank is now in it's sixth year, healthy and happy. I finally broke down and got an LTA - I tried to place it in the most open space with the most sand for it to dig into. It however, hunkered down in a small area...

duct tape were have you used it :)

I love duct tape I'm known as the duct tape queen at school. I use it for bulletin boards, clothing errors and most recently put my wallpaper back up with the neon pink duct tape. I color code my guided reading books with colored duct tape. I love duct tape.:p

    Attacking clowns

Thanks all, this was a first - and like I said, I've had them for four years and never a biting incident before. Very unfunny clowns! Terry

    Attacking clowns

I was doing my regular tank cleaning today, and my four year old tank raised perculas began attacking my arm. This is a first - is this a normal behavior for my usually docile clowns? I haven't noticed any eggs anywhere or else I would have chalked it up to that. Confusion abounds. Terry

Do you cool your tank in the summer

if you can't find screen - try the salt water solution - egg crate. Most sw tanks either have their tops open, or the plastic egg crate stuff tha hd sells for light fixtures. It keeps jumpers in - but allows for evaporation and cooling.

    Anyone with kindergartners?

I am a kindergarten/first grade teacher at a school with blended classes. If you have questions about what is appropriate - just ask! I love my job, and that is what you need to look for in a teacher. While all the upper grade teachers (we go to 8th grade) dress really nice - I wear jeans...

I want a starfish what is reef safe that lives?

I've had an orange (red) linkia for about three months - she stays off the corals, and moves all over the glass day and night. I've been told that they are algae/slime eaters and filter feeders. I haven't had to feed her anything special, so they are pretty easy. Make sure you acclimate any...

    Near Disaster

I can't blame the power head. As I was putting everything back together, I noticed a leak - my new phosban 150 leaks like a sieve. Water was dripping from the top ring and from the bottom seal. I've emailed Darin at Captivereefs to see what we should do. I guess the water hit the power strip and...

    Near Disaster

So, I came home from a wonderful night out with my daughters, and the lights in my kitchen are out. That means the everything in the tank is out also. So, I switch the breaker in the box (husband taught me how to do this since he travels) and I get everything back online. Ten minutes later - no...

    Which filter (canister) to get?

my fluval 404 has been extremely quiet and dependable for the past 3 years. I know you can find it for under $100 at different online sites. It has even cleared my tank from a massive sand storm - took it less than 3 hours. HTH I don't have experience in any other canister - just know this one...

    Phos sponge advice

I got my phosban reactor one week ago, no cyno left at all, and I only clean my glass once every other day instead of three times a day. I would recommend it highly. I still have to do another sand vacuuming to get left over stuff off of it, but the phosban hasn't hurt my corals, in fact, they...
