    "bi media" - referring to the mechanical filter HOB? I can shut it off but leave it in place. is that what you are suggesting? only want sponge filter running, if possible.

    F15T8 fixture cover question

    have very small tank but has ghost shrimp, frog, snail, and live plants. purchased small fluorescent fixture and F15T8 light. has to be mounted on wall above tank. lowes guy said not to put cover on fixture after installing tube because it would prevent the full spectrum. is this correct?
