Ick break out in main tank. Fry was in a breeders net.
I got the fry into there own tank now but I need to know how to treat the fry. I have noticed they now some of them have ick spots.
Can I use salt there?
Have increase temp in the fry tank.
Is it safe to use aq salt with fry?
What about quick cure, is that safe for the fry?
They were in a breeding net in my main tank and one platy mama has ick. So I transferred the fry to a 10 gallon tank. I am now noticing spots in a few of them.
Here's a picture of our Mickey Mouse Plaidy "leaf basket". (our four-year-old named her)
I noticed the spots tonight but I can't tell if it is ick or just micro air bubbles.
Parameters
0 ammonia
0 nitrites
20ppm nitrates
Only fish with the spots. The spots are on her only. they all eat...
I want to do sand substrate. I'm going to home depot to get pool filter sand. They are 50lb bags.
I need some guidance on how to start from the beginning with the sand.
How to clean it?
How much to put in?
How many days to let it settle?
When to add my filter on it?
When to add the plants...
Yea it is just about everything u need. Tank, filter, and hood w/lighting.
If u don't have a heater I would get one and also more gravel it sand which ever u use.
Also if u don't use it prime would be a great asset.
Since you are wanting to breed go ahead and get a breeder net. Petsmart...
It totally looks like there is one big baby fish in there from that pic. Lol
I got a yellow barb platy on Friday and she had 18 babies on Sunday. Guess my tank was great for her.
I hope she births soon!!!
It's so exciting!
It's a glo fish got orange. He was the surviving fish out of 4. I have def made plans to get him more of his kind when my tank is cycled.
The tank has been up and running for about 2 weeks.
Yes the filter pad was kept wet!!!
Yup easy peasy. In fact I had 2 platys and went Friday to get another female. The new one had babies Sunday. She had 24 I accidentally left her in the breeding tank 4 baby fish too many. And 2 were stillborn. 4 days old and 18 are still doing well.
