Well, as of Wednesday, last spot of ich is gone. Now just holding at 88deg for 1-2 weeks. No deaths. One of the lemons was doing the death acrobatics and then just suddently was fine.
What is the proper way of planting anubias?
I've read that A. nana like to have the rhizome above the substrate, but what about the other species/variants?
A rhizome is technically an underground root, so wouldn't most benefit form being planted in the substrate?
All discussion and personal...
the one I tied down has a large root system that cover the whole driftwood almost (combo of large roots and small driftwood). As a coincidence, it seems this plant was designed for the piece of driftwood. All of the major root coincide with a grove on the driftwood. Kind of freaky.
I just got some anubias and want to attach a coffeefolia to a piece of driftwood.
I've read around a little and saw to use fishingline or cottong thread to hold it to the wood. I went with cotton since it seems softer and natural and I have head it will dissolve on its own if I don't do anything...
yeah, but if you read my original post, have no-salt fish (tetras and otos), otherwise I'd be putting salt in. I've got a container sitting below my tank just teasing me.
mine isn't a horror story. My tanks were lightly loaded and all fish survived the normal cycling. The product just didn't instant cycle me. And yes, I did use it a situation as a "rescue" because I thought some of the cheap "fake" stuff would work and then my levels went all crazy on me.
yeah, I've always read that salt is bad with tetras.
Well, 88deg (or so and holding). It's not super steady, but I'm going my best to keep it there. Everyone seems ot be doing fine. There was a little more ich visible as the temp started to go up (as expected). Almost all of the "active"...
It didn't seem to work for me.
I split a 1 oz packet which should work for 30 gallons between a 10 gallon and 12 gallon. Now, the levels of ammonia were already quite high when I added it (as there was some nitrite and slight nitrates already). I must have gotten a partial early cycle or...
3 Otocinclus
3 Cardinal Tetras
5 Lemon Tetras
Ghost shrimp
Some plants (anacharis, hornwort, water sprite)
See a few little dots of ich, so I want to get it taken care of before I restock my tank (didn't find a dead fish for a few days and a lot of other fishes paid the price). I'm going to...
my LFS also has freshwater clams. Not the most exciting as they just sit there, but it's kind of neat to see them with their filters open sucking up filth.
I have some ghost shrimp, and they love to sit near the clams and grab stuff out of the water flow (no filter on the tank, so the only...
